(Solved) 2017.07 Tech & Music - SONAR 101 Understanding Loop Construction Tutorial

Hi all,
Thanks I really appreciate this article as its one of Sonar features I've been neglecting (and uncertain how to use it properly), despite its obvious and critical usefulness in at least changing adjusting audio recording's tempos and pitch. (i.e., converting to groove clips)
The article refers to AdrenaLinn Guitars loop download, and link directs to Craig's website, where there's a reference to them. Just to be certain as it notes there the full library wont be available till fall?, but is there somewhere the single loop can be downloaded, or is it included somewhere as part of 2017-07 update?

Cheers

Never mind think I found it later in tutorial, possibly more useful then link to download copy of 2017.07 Tech & Music magazine?, so it can remain open while going through tutorial.

I downloaded it last night from the same link Craig posted for the 30 presets.
You are right, its a good article on loop construction.

If you open this link

then open the Tech+tips there is a download button in the viewer.

I think I know what you mean though John.
When I open a PDF in my Windows explorer, it takes over my screen.
There might be a way to convert it to a Microsoft Word doc. that way we can view it and work with Sonar at the same time.

Hmmm...I couldn't download the loop mentioned in the article directly from issuu.com, but could after downloading it as a PDF. I'll ask what's up with that. To answer the other question, the full AdrenaLinn guitars library won't be available until the Fall. It will be likely be sold on Reverb.com.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I wish the bakers just offered it as easily readable PDFs.

Put them up prominently where the public can access them. Let potential customers and gear journalists get a taste of what's possible with Sonar.

All that effort, then they hide it away.

A PDF download is only three clicks away, and there are several places it's referenced on the site. But also, readership doubled from the first to second issue. I think at least some of that is due to being on issuu.com, where people can find out about similar publications. So it's exposing people outside the "SONAR ecosystem" to find out what Cakewalk is up to.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

You can still download the PDF from this link if you want:

https://app.box.com/v/tech-plus-music

As Chuck has pointed out, if you go to the the 30th anniversary page and open Tech+Music in Fullscreen, there should be a download button in the upper-left corner. You don't need an issuu account. This has been explained in a couple of threads, but it seems the word still needs to get spread around.

For what it's worth, there's a link for a selection of AdrenaLinn guitar loops on the Cakewalk blog from a few years ago that still seems to be working.

Chuck, thanks for posting the link.  Interesting to note, if I open up the full page display the display includes a download link in the top, left corner of the screen.  However when I open the June, 2017 edition no download link is available.

I subscribed, another advantage to subscribing for some may be exposing yourself (in a good way. LOL), and your business to people outside the "SONAR ecosystem".

You may want to note though there is an option to enable/disable display of explicit content. LOL

When I say prominent, I mean up there on the cakewalk homepage, on the main menu, the first place anyone's going to look for a company house magazine, plain PDF so anyone can read it immediately.

It's working here. You might want to try another browser or temporarily relaxing some security settings.

You should be seeing an embedded thumbnail image of the magazine cover page. There's a Fullscreen option when you hover/click the center of it.

I see a product with image on the left and "Tech+Music" with a description on the right. No thumbnail, no cover.

I've also now enabled issuu.com but nothing changes.

All those tracking services like marketo.net, googleadservices.com, owneriq.net etc. can't be relevant.

I'll see if I can find another browser, but I'm told Firefox is fairly popular.

You tried clicking on the tech tips photo ?
Telecharge has a good idea, try another browser. Im using IE11 and all I have to do is click on that thumb nail and Tech tips opens up. Inside (while reading) the tech + tips in the top left hand corner there is an icon (A down arrow) that's to download PDF.

It appears the new tech tips from this month was done in a Flip book format which typically uses flash player.it also might use Java. Craig would probably know more than I.
I didn't have any issues opening the flip book though in my browser and I had no problems downloading it from inside the manual.

jimfogle
However when I open the June, 2017 edition no download link is available

The download link inside tech tips only started this month as far as I know.
Possibly because of previous complaints of having to sign up to download.
(which is understandable, however anyone who is going to house your material for free/reduced pricing ..there's always a chain hooked on somewhere).

Because people with particular interests see suggestions for publications of similar interest (that works quite well, I signed up for an account specifically for that reason). And FWIW, issuu has a search function. Thanks to search, Cakewalk apparently doesn't have too much trouble being found among millions of web sites...15,000 publications is nothing

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I see everything but where you guys have the magazine image I have only the text part. Clicking around there does nothing.

@chuckebaby: That's the problem! For a long time, Firefox kept blocking Flash player for security reasons. Updating flash made FF happy for a while, but some time later Firefox would block the new version again. I removed it out of frustration. I'll see what happens from my work PC.

@craig: It's good it has suggestions and a search function. But I maintain my point - someone unaware of a house magazine's existence would see it first on the company home page, not in publication aggregation sites.
