[Solved] ASIO warning

every time I start sonar Platinum, I get a little warning box : 'there are no creative audio products installed and running on the system that supports ASIO.'  I click 'OK,' and then Sonar starts without issues.  Quite a while ago, I did have a Creative product for an audio capture device, but I haven't used it for years.

I am thinking this is in some sort of .ini file that starts with, or is pointed to, when I click on the Sonar shortcut.  Any one have any ideas which file i might look for, and modify so that this 'warning' doesn't need to come up again?   Thanks!!

Uninstall anything (drivers, applets, etc.) relating to the Creative hardware. Back up the AUD.INI file "just in case," then delete it. SONAR will rebuild a new one based on the existing components in your computer.

Could there be some orphaned service or Registry entry hanging out there for the old stuff?  Many times when things get uninstalled, they leave things behind.

I backed up aud.ini and the registry. Renamed aud.ini. Removed all creative software, files and folders. Went through the registry and removed registry items to E-Mu and Creative. There weren't many. Restarted everything.

Now Sonar Plt starts without that warning messages. So far all appears to work correctly.

Thanks!

Probably not relevant, but certain E-MU hardware throws up Creative error messages sometimes.
