[Solved] Blurry Fonts in Sonar and Win 10
Hello friends at the Cakewalk forums,
I just installed a new monitor for my desktop and now the fonts in Sonar are difficult to read, not sharp. I've tried editing the registry, disabling DPI scaling for Sonar, and also Windows ClearType. None of these things improved the fonts in Sonar. Running out of ideas, any help would be appreciated.

DPI scaling is the only issue I am aware of that has caused issues. I am not familiar with Win10, so if that is disabled globally, try opening another application. A VSTi would be a good choice. If it persists, I would start researching the monitor. With DPI scaling disabled (globally) do the GUIs of plugins inside of SONAR exhibit the same behavior?
Does the new monitor have the same connection as the old? Any upscaling, such as 4K upscaling may also be an issue. Drivers, etc., as well. Seeing this issue upon replacement makes the new monitor suspect.
What are the two monitors in question here?

I'd agree with mettlus. IF the monitor is the only change and it was fine before... that pretty much points to the monitor.
Hope you get it worked out!

The old monitor was standard PC and the new one is widescreen using the same connection. Apparently there's an issue with Windows 10 fonts and widescreen monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080 or higher. I think I've managed to make an improvement with reg edits and scaling, still looks a little off to me, but I can probably live with it. Thanks again.

Make sure you're running at the native resolution of your monitor. Modern monitors don't scale well.

I have a 1920x1080 and use Windows 10 and I don't have any issues with blurry fonts.

I have a 43 inch 4k TV as a second monitor scaled to 125. It looks great.

I don't drink, alcohol and music studios usually don't go together well.  It wasn't Windows or the graphics adapter, my Asus monitor was in Scenic mode, I switched it to standard and no more blurry text.
