[Solved] CA-2A-T installs but won't appear in my pro channel list

I bought the upgraded CA-2A having already installed the PC2A pro channel module. Now neither shows up in the list of modules I can add. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix this?

grrrrr

Have you tried rescanning your vst plugins? That should do it.

Yup tried that, it still doesn't show up. I didn't think the scan tool handled pro channel stuff...

YES! I had this happen, the first 5 times I installed it,and I have never had any problems installing cakewalk plugins before.

I don't know what the exact fix was[sorry]but I just kept trying, until I got BOTH the PC2A,and the CA2A to show up[which was the problem I was most confused about, either, eventually would show, but not both]

One thing I did do was go to "Black Vipers" site and put ALL my W7 Home Premium "Services" back to stock, after modding them[to no avail].

VST scan is the solution. If you already own the PC-2A, the CA-2A install processes renames the PC-2A dll so that SONAR no longer sees it. Scanning then picks up the new CA-2A PC module and VST plugin which are installed in your Cakewalk VSTplugins directory.

I've now run and re-run the install procedure as well as vst scans of both the 32 and 64 bit versions and I don't see them in any of the vst/vsti listings nor do I find any change in my PC list where it still shows (only) the PC2A

I'm gonna try again? This is the first time I've had any such trouble installing a Cakewalk product.... Maybe telling me I shouldn't have bought it? ;-)

    [edit]

OK... I discovered that it was me as usual... I kept running the PC2a instead of the CA2a <blush>...

So now it's installed and I notice something "unusual"?

... It seems that only the CA2a appears in the PC Listing

    Stranger still?

When I look in the available (bus/aux) sends, I see a list of all PC2a as well as CA2a sidechain plugs available?

I guess this means that it's not changed the name/label of previously installed PC2A devices while it is actually running the CA2a plugin thus enabling the sidechain facility?

Curious, but it appears to be working fine...

I was having the same problem -

Multiple VST scans, and the CA-2A never showed up.

As it turns out, the CA-2A installed in its own separate folder under:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins ~ a folder which NONE of my other plugins (including ProChannel) were using!!  Go figure!  Once I added that to the VST folders location and rescanned, all was good.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, Sonar X2 64-bit; all my other plugins installed in the folders I previously specified for my plugins, without issue.

    Interesting...

Sorry to drag up this old thread but I thought it might be better than starting a new one.
Anyway, I just installed the trial version and can see it in both categories, VST and VST 3 in the plug-in manager but can't find it in any menu I add it to (or the default menu or the PC).
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Randy

Hi Randy. Have you run a rescan with "Rescan existing plugins" checked? That should fix it.
