[Solved] Can we save Track Folders as a Template yet?

I have a folder that all the audio routing is set up for an EZDrummer drum kit. Midi clips are in a different folder. I can't seem to find a way to save that folder as a 'template'. Any way to do this?
It would make my life easier-and I need that!

There is no folder template yet. The workaround is to select all the tracks in the folder (e.g., click the space to the left of the folder icon) and right-click on one of the tracks to save it as a single track template. Then you can recall it later.

I must say I'm always surprised how much you can actually do with track templates. I have a multiband processing template that calls up an input channel, four buses, 11 effects, and all necessary routing.

Wow! Worked like a charm.  As an added bonus when I inserted the my new track template, (new testing project)
the respective folders for both the MIDI and the audio also appeared.  The only downside was that the tracks were not colored.
    Thanks!

Glad it worked for you. I should have gone into a little more depth because there are other options you might find useful.

If you click the space to the left of the Track folder icon in the header, that selects all tracks and if you right-click on a track and save as a track template, you get the results you had above.

However, you can also click the space to the left of the Track folder in the header, then ctrl+click other tracks to select particular tracks within a folder. If you right-click on a track and save as a track template, you get the folder but only the tracks you selected are included in the folder.

If you have an instrument with several audio tracks in one folder and several MIDI tracks in a different folder, if you click to the left of the Track folder icon in the header, and ctrl+click to the left of the Track folder icon in the other folder's header, you can right-click on a selected track in either folder and save as a track template. When you recall, you'll get both folders and all tracks.

As described previously, you can also choose to exclude certain tracks from being saved within either folder. This is really useful if you choose to enable all of an instrument's outputs when you create it, but then realize you don't need several of the outs.

I think that pretty much covers it...

Yeah - I use Track Templates ALL the time, particularly for drums.  I set up a track template for each drum kit I build in Battery 3, with each kit piece routed to its own output from Battery 3, and then I have a Drums track folder that contains one audio track for each kit piece's audio output from the Battery 3 instance, as well as all the buses I route various drum channels to (Toms, Cymbals, etc), and a Drums Master bus and a Parallel Compression bus, and Sonar cheerfully saves all of that off for later insertion into future projects.

I cannot tell you how much time the above saves for adding one of these pre-built drums track templates into a project.  I even have all of the individual battery 3 kit piece cell's output volumes set to that once inserted into a Sonar project, with faders for the audio tracks for each kit piece set to Unity, each track will peak at around -18 dBfs.

LOVE those track folders, and track templates.  I too hope that they add the preservation of any assigned track/bus colors for track templates, as that would be amazingly helpful.
