[Solved] Cant activate my guitar with TH2 Producer

Hello, Im so new to Sonar Platinum and TH2 Producer.  I have a M-track audio interface with windows 7.  I cannot seem to get TH2 Producer to read my guitar.  I set up an audio track in a new Sonar Platinum project, set my input to my right channel M-track audio, placed TH2 Producer in the effects section (I dont know if this is the right way to do this).  I clicked on TH2 Producer and it does not seem to recognize my guitar.  The audio track recognizes my guitar while playing, but TH2 doesnt.  I would really like to hear better sounds with my guitar so that I can lay some better guitar recordings, but I cant seem to get TH2 to work.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Try enabling Input Echo on the track containing TH2 and make sure the audio interface is set to monitor the DAW.

    thanks scook, i figured it would be just one button or something.  It worked, but now my guitar is delayed.  I been playing with the latency and havent got it to 0 latency.  I will keep messing with it.  I wish I was more experienced with this, it seems to be a cool program.  Thanks for your reply, u really helped, i was going crazy, lol.

    Well, you are unlikely to get 0 latency but <10msec should be OK.
     
    To achieve this you are best to use ASIO drivers (and configure further Preferences Audio / the ASIO Panel).

    ASIO is preferred, and something to get familiar with is buffers. As you add effects you will most likely need to bump up buffers to prevent pops/clicks, but if you go back to rerecord you can get latency. "E" is the global effects bypass to help get latency back down.

    When you're trying to reduce latency, don't get obsessive about trying to reduce it to zero (you won't get that).
    Remember that with the slow(ish) speed of sound in air, just standing 6 feet from your guitar amp will give you an instant 6ms lag between what you play and what you hear...

    Thanks again, for some reason the M-audio ASIO didnt work right with my DAW.  I had to download the ASIO4all driver.  After a few minor adjustments, my guitar is sounding great with just over 10ms.  Im very excited to use this in all my future projects.  Its great to know people on here really help out when we get frustrated.  Thanks again to you scook and Karyn.

    FWIW ... without closer attention, 11msec was where may latency sat ... and for me not good enough for guitar.
     
    I now sit at 5.8msec which is perfectly adequate. It won't directly help you ... but I got there via process priority tweaks in my Behringer ASIO driver.
     
    Those levels remain when I then switch to Voicemeeter virtual ASIO. (I also have ASIO4ALL) but only ever use it for testing scenarios now.
