[Solved] Clean Install Issues
I tried to install SONAR Platinum (a clean install) on my laptop, and got errors on a couple of files. My laptop is using Windows 8.1 and has not had SONAR installed before. I attempted the install using CCC, letting it install to the C: drive, like it insists upon. It failed on two or three of the installs - what I remember was Artist Instrument Collection and Classic Creative FX.
The errors I received were all related to RegSvr32 (error code 0x3) on three different files:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins\multivoicechorusflanger.dll
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Dxi\P4antom\P5antom.dll
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Dxi\PSYNII\PSYN II.dll
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3.
Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve? I ran CCC as administrator, so all the installs should have run as administrator, too, correct?
I re-downloaded all the files, and then ran them, making sure to do "run as administrator" on each.
I don't know which of the two things I did that fixed it, but all of the individual items in SONAR Platinum have successfully installed with no error messages. It MIGHT have been some sort of ordering of the installs, too.
