[Solved] Craig Anderton Presets

I was playing with the sci fi preset in environment generator for a song intro but can't figure out how to insert and control the effect. It plays thru out but I only want it on the intro and outro. Thanks for any guidance!!!

P.S. I hope this isn't a dumb inquiry. Please excuse my ignorance

Automate the mute button?  Or automate the FXchain on/off button?

I have not use them yet, so am just guessing.  Sorry if my reply is stupid, just thinking out loud.

I must have a play with them tomorrow.

I never thought anyone would use those for musical purposes! They're intended to play in the background when you want to chill. I ran off a set of CDs for a massage therapist and another for a parent whose child had a hard time going to sleep  (one of the environments has a 2.5 Hz modulation impressed on it to induce sleep).

Anyway, it's quite simple to capture the sound. Define a region and bounce to track. It doesn't matter that there's nothing in the track with the environment plug-in; the environment itself generates sound. Then you have a clip you can fade in, out, flange, whatever.

If you want to make an environmental CD, just define a 60-minute region, bounce to track, and burn the track to a CD.

That's what I did Craig. I recorded a 8 bar clip then re-sized, region, then bounced. I did a couple of the generated sounds then mixed those to audio tracks. They work great for my intro and outro.

Part of the fun of creating content is I never know exactly how it will be used...
