[Solved] Delete measures across all tracks

I inserted 7 measures in the middle of my project using the Project - Insert Time/Measures (why the Insert functions aren't located in the friggin' INSERT MENU I have no idea, but anyway...). Turns out I inserted too many measures. I now need to delete 2 of those measures. My piece has several dozen tracks in it, and most of them are not playing at this insert/delete point. I can't figure out how to simply remove two measures from the middle of the piece and have things line up properly.

Here are the steps I took:
1. In Track View, Ctrl-A to select all
2. Select the two measures I want to delete by dragging in the time line. I now have a shaded column going down every track on those two measures. So far so good
3. Choose Edit / Delete Special...
4. In the dialog, make sure everything is checked
5. Hit OK
However, only the tracks that have clips in those two bars exhibit any change. The bars that are silent during those bars don't move, which of course means everything is now out of sync. Also, the shaded column has changed so that only the bars which changed are shaded.

How do I delete those two bars so that everything is still lined up? Dragging clips from the other tracks is not a solution, because markers and tempo changes etc. do not move.

Doesn't it seem that Sonar should make it really difficult to get your tracks out of sync with each other? I can't imagine people want to horizontally move music in some tracks and not others very often at all, but it's so easy to do. Yet another example where I can tell Sonar developers are thinking like developers and not like musicians. Grrrrr....

Hi. Which release of Platinum do you have?
If on one of the later releases, perhaps try "Ripple Editing"?

    All the best.

Ripple Editing, which was added in the [2017.05] release of Platinum, Professional, and Artist is what you should be using.

    Documentation is here: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Arranging.22.html.

The May Tech+Music eZine contains an excellent explanation by Craig Anderton of how to use the new Ripple Editing feature.

A tip from numerous users on the forum is to make sure to turn off Ripple Editing when you have completed your edit.

EDIT:  Looks like @Zargg beat me to it.

    Hope this helps,

Sometimes its just a matter of reading the manual or asking questions here rather than jumping to conclusions about the developers.

Its done using Ripple editing. (Select all/ripple editing)
I do this quite often (move 30+ tracks with markers, tempo changes, exc)
