[Solved] Help! A-500Pro Problem - Requiring Update Upon Power Up?

Hi folks!  Something appears to be wrong with my Cakewalk A-500Pro MIDI controller.  Every time it is powered up, it's asking to update the firmware.  Firmware has already been updated as of a long time ago to v1.15.  But now it's asking to update again, and it doesn't seem to take.  Here's what's happening:
  • Keyboard is powered by USB, and it's always on.  It stays on even if the computer goes to sleep.
  • LCD displays the message "Ver.1.150 [Enter].
  • Switch-off, switch back on, and it displays the same message.
  • Press Enter (knob) button moves to the next step.
  • "Erase?" [L9] button.  Press L9.
  • "Sure?" [L3] button.  Press L3.
  • After erasure, "Please Send SMF" message.  I send the v1.15 update file via the SMF Utility software.  It receives the data OK.
  • After successful write, "Complete!" message is displayed and requires power off.
  • Power off the keyboard with the switch.
  • Upon power up, the LCD displays the same message in step #2.  No other buttons work to get out of the update message.  I've tried holding down ACT and the left arrow to get it to reset, but this won't work either.  Also, a different USB port does not help.
Please help.  Thanks!  Not sure what's going on here besides what could be a hardware or firmware failure.  If so, this keyboard lasted 3 years of extremely light use.  As far as I know, there was no defining moment of failure.  I haven't done any music for about a week, and the keyboard just sits on the desk.

    [SOLVED].

Uninstalling the drivers from the Windows operating system seemed to have fixed the problem.  Somewhere along the lines, the drivers must have gotten corrupt and were somehow affecting the flash/programming of the keyboard--a complete mystery!  However, it's good to know that the keyboard is back in business.  It's too bad, because the keybed on the A6 Andromeda seems to spark a little more creativity with its feel!

Overall, here is what I did to fix the problem:
    1. Uninstalled the Win7-x64 drivers.  Required to restart the computer.
    2. Reinstalled the same drivers.
    3. Followed firmware programming procedures (see A500pro instructions on Roland's website), which is to:
      1. Set the switch on the bottom of the keyboard appropriately.
      2. Erase the flash.
      3. Reprogram the flash with the "updSMF Utility".
      4. Turn off the keyboard.
      5. Put the bottom switch in the original position.
      6. Power up the keyboard.
