[Solved] Help! Importing Audio...

Hi all

Long time Sonar user here...

I've been searching through the manual and I cannot see a way to bring in audio without Sonar "Groove clipping" the audio. I wouldn't mind but Sonar gets the tempo wrong of the imported audio and aldo slices it into beats I cannot remove.

BTW this audio was created in Sonar using the FL Edison plugin. I get the same results from dragging from Edison into Sonar or dragging to my desktop and then into Sonar. There must be a way to turn this "feature" off!!

Thanks,

Mike

If it's being imported as a groove clip I would suggest it started life as one. AFAIK Sonar won't change it on import although you can do that manually yourself after the event.

Regardless of that though, all you need to do is bounce to clip and you have an "ungrooved" clip.

    Cheers FBB

Thats true but I have an ungrooved clip at the wrong length. Funny thing is as I drag it in I can see it at the correct length then Sonar makes it longer. I've tried different settings in Edison but I'm having a hard time getting these two programs to communicate...

If it's a groove clip it will adjust to the project tempo. Change the tempo in Sonar to the tempo you want and the clip will follow.

    Thanks Mate

You put me onto the solution in yer first reply in that Sonar was not creating the groove clip. I've got it sorted now. I had to figure out how to set the BPM for the clip in Edison. Not an intuitive feature in that program at all..

    Thanks
