[Solved] How to keep the browser window from opening automatically when I load a project?
Hi Folks, I've noticed recently that each time I open a project, any project new or old, it opens with the browser window open. I know, I can just close it, but I would like to find out why this happens. It doesn't matter if I save the project with the browser window closed, it will open anyway whenever I re-open the project. Before this started happening, projects would open in whatever state they were in when the project was last saved. Any ideas! Thanks so much for any help! Mike

Unlock the screenset, hide the folder, lock it again & save project

Thanks so much for the reply, Bristol_Jonesey. I don't typically use screensets, however I tried your suggestion on the main screenset, (#1) and the project still re-opened with the browser window open. I guess I am always using the main screenset because I never change them. I really don't want to make a big deal out of this, since I can just press B and close the browser, but it still bugs me that I have to do it every time I open a project. The only time the browser does not open is when I start a new project and select "Blank Project". It opens with all the other project templates that come with Sonar that I checked, but I'm not sure if that's the way the templates were saved or not.

I just opened a project which had the Browser open. I closed the browser, saved the project and re-opened the project and the Browser remained closed. This was with the screenset unlocked I then experimented with locking the screenset with the Browser open, hid the browser, saved, closed & re-opened and the Browser reverted to being open. This is exactly how it should be so at this moment, I don't know what's causing your problem With an unlocked screenset, saving the project should honour the visibility of not only the Browser but everything else you can see when you save

Thanks for putting that time in. I very much appreciate it. So, to experiment i went to screenset 7, the first unnamed one and set it up how I like it, with the browser closed. I then re-named and locked the screenset, closed Sonar, then re-opended Sonar and the current project and it opened with screenset 7 showing and browser window closed. That it exactly what i want. So that is a pretty painless thing. to save & lock a screenset set up the way I like to work. Like you said I still don't know what changed in my system to cause this hiccup, but this is a very easy workaround. Thanks for checking into it for me! Mike

I have the same issue. The browser opens whether the screenshot is locked or not. My projects also open with the console view open. these changes seem to have occurred recently even though I have made no changes to my projects. I have tried all the suggestions to no avail. Thank you

Bristol, Thanks for the suggestion. Appreciate your time. That certainly cured the console view opening but unfortunatelly not the browser.
