I wish.    No, the friendly CCC does not offer an uninstall that way.   Nor can anything CCC installs be uninstalled in the normal windows way.

I did find the answer: there is an uninstall .exe in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Command Center

So one can navigate there and run it.

    Hi william-

When I click on "Command Center" in Control Panel > Programs and Features I have an "Uninstall" option. Are you saying that doesn't work or you don't have that entry at all? This is in Win 7x64; I haven't checked in Win 8.1 yet.

That's wrong, you can uninstall it the way you uninstall any Windows program:

    1. Control Panel  > Programs and Features.
    2. Click on Cakewalk Command Center.
    3. Click on Uninstall.

AFAIK, the Windows Control Panel feature simply calls an uninstall.exe file if present (e.g., in the CCC folder) and executes it.

williamcopperNor can anything CCC installs be uninstalled in the normal windows way.

That's not really right either, quite a few of the elements in a SONAR installation can be uninstalled via the Control Panel.

A picture is worth a thousand words...that's why it's so hard for authors to make a living any more, since everyone has a camera in their smart phone.

I saw what you said, but you had asked "Are you saying that doesn't work or you don't have that entry at all?" so I thought step-by-step instructions with an illustration would be helpful for him to see the entry you were talking about, and what he would expect to see if he followed the steps that were delineated.

Also his comment that nothing CCC installs can be uninstalled wasn't addressed, so I covered that. And for any nerds reading this who want to know more about the way PCs work, I thought it was worth pointing out that the Windows Control Panel doesn't really do anything different than what a program's uninstall.exe file does. People sometimes ask if they should use the uninstall that's in a program's folder or the Windows one, and I've been told by people who know a lot more about computers than I do that it doesn't make any difference.

Cool, Craig. I'm sure william will appreciate your much more thorough instructions.

Or at least that I'm a recovering ediholic, LOL...I've written a lot of manuals in my time. If there's one thing I found, it's that some folks are very visually oriented. Consider how many people would rather watch an instructional video than read a manual. I suspect this is particular true with musicians, many of whom have spent an entire lifetime honing a non-verbal skill set.

This first became clear to me with the Drumulator manual I wrote in 1981. It was one of the first mass-market microprocessor-driven devices for musicians, and it became clear text was no longer sufficient. E-Mu always felt that making it step-by-step with lots of graphics helped with its acceptance, and I've taken that tack ever since.

Thanks to all the above.   The control panel is the first place I looked, as above, and I didn't find Command Center.   But it's possible that I simply didn't see it in the long list.    Anyway, the uninstall as found in the program folder did work.

It's handy to click on the heading for the manufacturer so that they're all grouped together. I'm not sure of the logic Windows uses to sort all the entries. I think NI Komplete adds about 7,449 items
