[Solved] Looping cuts off audio

Hi,

First time poster here with a quite specific problem..

I recorded some audio tracks, 8 to be exact. When playing back these tracks and only when looping is enabled, 2 of them get cut off earlier then they should at the end of the loop (like at least 1 measure earlier then the others), and start at least 1 measure later at the beginning of the loop. This doesn't happen when looping is not enabled.
Funny thing, these where the only 2 tracks I sent to a stereo bus to apply some effects, but then decided against it, and deleted the bus again. Coincidence?

Looks indeed very much like it Harry, not entirely sure though.
To clarify I made this video:

Another issue, which you can see in the video too, is that even though I soloed 2 guitar tracks, I still have to mute the drumtrack to get only the sound of the guitars, if I don't, there is still some drum overhead sound/reverb hearable..

Harry can you confirm it's the same bug you're experiencing?
There must be more people having these issues? Perhaps I should revert to an older version?
Sorry for being impatient, but its kinda hard to mix if the audio keeps dropping every now and then..

I just did a workshop at AES with a project that looks very similar to yours in terms of track count and duration, and was looping entire clips with no problem. The only difference I noticed is that I always select the region to be looped by clicking on a clip (or selecting multiple sequential clips, if needed). Try selecting the clip in track 3 or 4 to define the region to be looped, and then enable looping to see if that helps.

    Hi Anderton,

Well I'll be damned. That actually did the trick.. That's remarkable, cause I always set the loop section the way you explained it, but once's it set, I use a midicontroller or mouse to toggle it on/off or just use the keyboard shortcut L.
Strange.. but well that one's solved.

Perhaps, if you have seen my video, you could help me on the other issue too? Looks like the midi drum track is not auto-muted when I solo an audio track? Maybe that's some setting I overlooked?

Check that you don't have "dim" solo enabled.  That will allow a bit of non-soloed tracks to come through.

    Hi Anderton,

    Well I'll be damned.

That's a little harsh...I think you deserve leniency under the "Stuff Happens" rule

I do the same thing, so perhaps it's some one-off issue or a particular combination of...something. Viewing your video, it did seem odd that there wasn't a white stripe in between the two loop points, which is what made me think that maybe somehow the region had been deselected.

If this happens again, maybe an option is to "refresh" the loop setting by placing the cursor above the timeline, between the two loop points, until it turns into a magnifying glass. Click once to select the region between the loop start and end.

Hah yeah, as you may have noticed, my native language isn't english :-) When I'm not entirely sure if what I'm saying is correct, I tend to fall back on things I hear in "the movies" or the news, hence the expression: "well ill be damned"..
So if you ever hear me say things like "I did not have sexual intercourse with that woman" or the more recent "lemme build a wall between the US and Mexico", know I'm having a hard time expressing myself :-p

Anyway, thx for helping me out!

reginald, I'll have a look this afternoon when I'm in front of my pc to see if I find that option

Actually, no. You speak English a lot better than some Americans
