Yes. Also, for random drum creations, you can do looping with overdubs...
Input quantize is worth exploring too in this example. Since you are looping over the same section of a midi track adding beats, if you put quantize on, it will be much easier to create a useful drum loop which you cant ctrl+L and then drag out and have it be something you want to play on.
You may not like it in the end, but it can be a fun way to quick start a project... Take 4 bars, start the loop... tap in bass drum hits... tap in snares... hi hats... etc...
Then loop and drag out. You can always undo the input quantize after recording if you want. Up to you.
