[Solved] Roland Quad Capture digital noise problem.

Edit : Noise problem solved by connecting the USB cable to another slot.

Sorry for the double post.

I posted my latency finding at the Cakewalk Audio / Midi forum, including some digital noise problem on my new Quad capture : http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2541827

I'm posting here, just the problem, as not to hijack the previous topic..

-----
I can hear a clear but soft and constant digital noise. I connect my active monitor directly to the Quad's output and the noise exists regardless of the Quad output level. No hiss, just digital noise. When I set ground lift to "lift" the noise is worst.

(my previous interface, the Phonic Firefly 302 is dead quiet).

Anyone had digital noise problem with your Quad Capture ?

    worse with ground lift?

sounds like electrical line noise (in your studio electricity)

do you use line filters of any kind?

    probably a good idea

Yes, I have bad electrical line noise in my home studio. At certain time, I just cannot record any electric guitar, as it buzz so bad. I used to have a regular AVR  to protect the computer (all other equipment also connect to this supply), but it don't seems to help with the noise. The AVR broke down about a months ago. I'm still sourcing for a suitable one.

    Is there any recommendation ?

    Thanks!
