[Solved] Slowing down not sure what to blame
In X2 if I go to settings (P) even if I make no changes, just pressing close, the little blue wheel spins for longer than it used to and sometimes at the top of the window the message not responding appears, leave it another 20 seconds and it completes ok. Not a show stopper as yet but I'm concerned I may have changed something. It could be computer or audio interface or X2. any good ideas would be very welcome. Thanks Roy

When things slow, I usually want to blame the worn out drummer.
Hitting ok and closing preferences engages the audio drivers for your interface. Any driver updates you might take advantage of?

Thanks Gswitz I didn't know that engaged audio drivers, but I'm as up to date from Focusrite as I can be, but they do seem to have some issue with their USB that can be affected by other connected USB devices, guess I need to try disconnecting all other devices and see what happens. Roy

Clear the picture cache may help. Run a program like ccleaner will speed up your computer. It is undestructive from my experience but I do recommend unticking some boxes like keeping passwords etc in preferences. It'l fix any broken links etc and you can purchase a more pro version if you wish

Thanks BJN, got it sorted now, disconnected all other USB's and it worked as I would expect it, found the culprit was Focusrite VRM box which is USB 1.1 so plugged that into seperate set of USB's lower down the back of my computer and hey presto all working fine. apparently if you plug 1.1 into 2.0 hub it will drag 2.0 speed down to 1.1 according to Focusrite so I guess they are right. Thanks people guess we win again. Roy

Just as an FYI, one of the Bakers posted recently that Platinum includes a change that no longer engages the audio driver when exiting the Preferences dialog if no driver changes have been made. Regards, Dan
