[Solved] Soft synths not accepting QWERTY-input. Executes shortcut instead

SOLVED, many thanks!

Hi all,

Software:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, fully up to date.
Sonar X3d 64bit.
Native Instruments Reaktor 5.9.0, 64bit.
Arturia Jupiter 8v 2.5, 64bit (I think, I've uninstalled it again due to this problem I have).

Hardware:
Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40GHz with 16gb RAM.

My problem:
When I manually want to enter a value in some soft synths I switch screensets instead of entering values in the synth. I can enter characters that are currently not assigned to a keyboard shortcut normally.

Additional info:
Most annoyingly this happens on Native Instruments Reaktor. It also happens when I try entering a preset name using the Arturia's Jupiter 8v's internal preset-diaglog. If I hit a letter that is assigned to a keyboard shortcut it proceeds to execute that shortcut's command rather than entering that letter into the synth. Other synths, like N.I Battery 4,  are fine and accept qwerty-keyboard input like you expect they would. It happened on a few other VSTs as well, don't quite remember which ones.

As you can imagine this is horribly frustrating to work with. And unfortunately adjusting a virtual knob to dial in the value is not always an option.Thought I'd try to disable the screenset shortcuts under preferences but it seems you can not remove these short cuts. Tried loading random other control surfaces but the problem persists and it just proceeds to execute a different command. And can't seem to find a way to disable all the keyboard shortcuts.

Help:
Anyone have any idea what causes this or what can be done to fix or circumvent it?

- I've tried copying/pasting the input I want but those dialogs don't accept a paste it seems.
- I've tried entering the numerical values with the numpad but it just starts nudging things.
- I can't seem to disable the screenset's shortcuts under preferences. This is not possible at all?

Thank you so much for your time!

top right hand corner of the plug in window theres a keyboard icon "Switch keystrokes to plug in"

That should do the trick?
