[Solved] Sonar can't see Korg nanokey2?

Plugged in the Nanokey - windows installed the driver
Then I installed the latest driver from Korg web site
The device appears in Device Manager under sound, game and says it's working properly
I start Sonar - go to midi device to activate it, and it doesn't show in the list

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I may hve done incorrectly??
Any help to fix this appreciated

did you make an controller binding?

Go to Start / Programs / KORG / Korg USB MIDI driver tools / Install KORG USB MIDI device - and run.

If it won't help - go the same path but run UNINSTALL KORG USB MIDI DEVICE. Click Options, uncheck "show KORG devices only", then unclick every single unneccesarry device on list.

After that and after restart Windows, plug devices again. And bind nano again using first path. It should help.

In a fact this KORG tool: UNINSTALL KORG USB MIDI DEVICE - is great in the case, if ystem doesn't want ad another USB-MIDI device - it's because limited number of bindings available for USB ports.
When I have troubles with my ANY devices - I use this tool to clear all indings and clean the mess.

Just to clarify - you think I perhaps have too many USB devices connected at one time?
Could be  I'll check this out - thank you

not "too many at one time", but if you made some port switching, added/tested several devices in past on your computer - even after uninstalling there are "junk" bindings. Just use tool to see what happens on your systemand USB bindings.

I had the same problem with padKONTROL, few friends had the same problem with several devices from other manufacturers. Reason was almost the same....
You don't have to unbind any (or all) driver bindings, but most often it helps.

After restart just start to plug your devices one by one - and wait - plug another device after  system will install previous one.

btw. if you change USB ports that your devices are connected too, every change blocks one "slot" in USB port. And the number of slots is limited.
I can't explain it more clearly, but that's the way it looks from (non English) user point of view.

My thanks to those who helped
I did run the "cleanup" of usb devices - and dumped a few
Then I restarted and plugged it in - no joy in Sonar
So I unstalled using their software, and then in Windows programs
The docs say plug it in and let Windows install the driver, then install from the web site
This time I just installed from the web site and configured for 64 bit (it seemed to already know that)
Then I plugged it in and joy - it showed up in Sonar
I conclude that likely the first driver install was faulty
    Thanks for the help

I had a similar problem and google turned up this thread. However, the solution presented here didn't work for me. Ultimately, what worked was the simplest option as described in Korg's documentation (which you can find only by looking in the Korg USB-MIDI Driver Tools folder, and which you need to read before installing the driver). I just plugged the nanoKEY2 into a USB port, Windows said it was installing the generic driver, then it said it was installing the Korg-specific driver. It was not necessary to install the Korg driver separately, in fact when I did, the nanoKEY2 didn't show up in Sonar.

FWIW the nanoKEY2 worked with USB 2 and 3 ports in my laptop.
