[Solved] Start screen blank with no projects icons
Ipswich Platinum. In the first 3 or 4 days Start screen had some minor issues. Today when I open Splat in offline mode Start screen is blank with no projects icons. When I open Splat with on line connection Start sceen is all right. ????

I've had that happen a couple of times even with the internet connection on.
I have to say, while I quite like the basic design of the Start Screen, as someone who works pretty much all day every day in Sonar, it's current state is starting to grate on me. It's slow and buggy.

I sent a mail with my question to the support team on 09/23/2015.
They answered that they will reply as soon as possible.
Until now (10 days), despite a reminder, no answer..........I'm really surprised.

I have a blank start screen a couple of times-nothing reproducible. When it happened, buzzing my mouse cursor back and forth over it made it refresh. Well, it appeared to. Like I said, I haven't been to get a blank SS often enough to verify.
If this happens, please try it.

If it is I can't find it. When I click on the files/advanced disable start screen it does stop the new start screen from loading but it does not revert back to the old start screen. By the old start screen I mean the one that came up front and center when you started Sonar. What am I missing? Thanx for your time.

Issues remain the same still with Jamaica Plain update....no, it's worse.
Now I cannot see projects icons not even in on line mode!

Start screen opens blank also since Jamaica Plain update. Firewall turned off (temporarily). The new project tab in the start screen will launch a new project. When I try to open the video tab it tells me I'm disconnected from the internet, which isn't the case. All else working fine.

Ditto - no missing anything in the SS. My internet connection is via an external wireless adapter (desktop machine) that's usually turned on, and while I use Firefox (vs IE) for all internet usage it's usually closed. This is on Win7 SP1.

OK lets see if we can figure this out. First make sure that your project folder is listed correctly in preferences under files. Then when you start Sonar what do you see? If I recall correctly it is not populated until you open a project using the existing project menu selection. Open a project from the browser that opens from that item and save it. You may need to reopen the Start Screen. You should now see that project listed. A snapshot of it should be there in the SS.
Let me know if this is not the case.

I don't know (yet) if this has changed with the Jamaica update, but in Ipswich & previous, a project would not appear in the SS until it was saved.
Simply opening & closing a project will not populate the SS

In regards to the start screen appearing offline, there is a cache folder you can clear that should bring all of your icons back. Try this:
Open a run prompt by pressing the Windows Key + R
In the prompt, type %appdata% and press Enter
Navigate to Cakewalk>SONAR Platinum>StartScreenCache
Delete the contents of the StartScreenCache folder
Relaunch SONAR
Stay good and well, cheers
