Hi, Cant get out of Demo Mode tried all previous suggestions in previous threads. I'm hoping this gets picked up by a staff member as I'm sure this needs to be resolved behind the scenes.

Thanks in advance

Probably should contact tech support directly if you can (PM Noel perhaps since you are in Europe).

yea I was going to phone but I'm based in the UK. I would imagine it would cost me a pretty penny to call them. I know people have gained help pretty quickly by posting threads, thought I would give it a shot. Thanks for responding.  I'm new not aware of a Noel, can he be be found by just typing Noel?

    Hi Steven,

I'm sorry you are stuck in demo mode. If you could give me some info I might be able to track the problem down.

    1. What method of authorization are you using, Cakewalk Command Center or Offline Authorization?
    2. Launch Sonar and open Help - About. To the right of the serial number (i.e. CSPT-1.00.xxxxx.xxxxxx) there's a code that indicates what failed (i.e. 200 0). What is that code (not the serial number)?
    3. What version of sonar are you running and what operating system are you using?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dan

Don't be sorry I think this might be my fault and thank you for responding :)

    1) Auth Cakewalk Command Center
    2) (2000, 0)
    3) Sonar Platinum Windows 7 64bit

    Thank you

    Hi Steven,

The code means the authorization make it to you from our side. First, make sure Cakewalk Command Center is up and running. Launch the Command Center application and verify it is connecting to the internet. If it is crashing this is what's causing the problem. Uninstall and re-install of Command Center should solve the issue.

If CCC runs ok, you may be running on a Windows user account that has restricted permissions. This might be a non-administrator account with restrictions on writing/copying files in certain directories. If this is the case, you might want to up the privileges of the account or run as an administrator.

Any aggressive firewall/anti-virus settings could also contribute to the issue. Try temporarily disabling any fireware or anti-virus software to see if Sonar will authorize.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response Dan,

CCC Is running perfectly and connected to the internet

UAC is completely turned off (I have tried running CCC as Adminstrator and Launching witin CCC and also Sonar Platinum directly)
I only use windows firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials  anyway I disabled these to try and  Authorise but still no luck I also added a permission in Windows Firewall for CCC and Sonar Platinum.

I'm really at a loss now

Just to make sure, Launch Cakewalk Command Center. Select Sonar Platinum in the list and hit the "Launch" button. Does Sonar still fail to authorize at this point?

    Thanks!

Thanks Freex I have tried that, Dan I have always launched Sonar Platinum within CCC by pressing the Launch Button since the Demo Mode I have also tried to launch Sonar directly using the shortcut on my desktop both were run as administrator. I have since tried to run the offline activation I get an Activation Response and put that into Sonar and nothing happens.

Again thank you both for the help

Please try closing C3 before launching SONAR.
Let us know if that is able to authorize.

C3 = Shorthand for Cakewalk Command Center.
For reference, on investigation this specific issue turned out to be billing related. So its was in demo mode because the current membership was not valid. Support will work with him to resolve his billing issue.

Re: Stuck In Demo Mode 2015/01/31 17:58:15 (permalink)
    Just thought I would respond.

Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to the community and the Staff members that helped me I'm new to Sonar but if the service/help I have received is anything to go bye I am going to be a happy customer for a long long time.

A quick explanation what happened: Basically I'm new to Sonar so I decided to go with the subscription model and give it a try for a month. I purchased a monthly subscription and decided straight away to cancel the subscription (I thought I was cancelling the automatic Renewal) to ensure I didn't get charged at the end of the month in case Sonar wasn't for me and I forgot to Cancel. Anyway this lead to the service being immediately stopped (put in Demo mode). I assumed I would have the full month to play around with Sonar as I had paid for it but this is not the case.

The solution: If you decide Sonar is not for you then wait until the last possible moment to cancel your subscription. If however you are reading this and done the same as me (like anyone but me would be so stupid) then the solution is to speak with Customer Support

Again thank you all for the help. Talk Soon

Are you using Cakewalk command center ?
Try logging out / then logging in again.
Registration heavily relies on Command center log on.
