[Solved] Trouble Installing Control Surface in X3 Producer

I'm trying to install a Behringer BCF-2000 Control Surface in Sonar X3 Producer (64-bit). I had it working under X2. Following the directions in the manual I have enabled the BCF-2000 midi input and output ports. When I try to add the controller I get the Controller/Surface Settings dialog but when I pull down the Controller/Surface list I get nothing. Not only do I not see the BCF-2000, I don't see the Cakewalk Generic Surface or the ACT Midi Controller either. The field is completely empty. I am running the BCF-2000 in Mackie emulation mode so I should see it. I did see it in X2.

The BCF-2000 worked fine with X2 and still works fine with Reaper so I know there is nothing wrong with it.

Any idea how to get the control surface recognized in X3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you have the right MIDI ports selected.

Sounds like the surfaces are missing/not installed. On a standard install they should be in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces.

Have a look there and check that exists.

    All the surface dll's (ACTController.dll, GenericSurface.dll, MackieControl.dll, etc.) are in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces so I don't think that's it.

I wonder if it could be a registry problem given that the dll's are there but X3 doesn't seem to see them.

Have you tried running the installation again?

Reinstalling fixed the problem. Control surfaces are working fine. I even got my old Red Rover working again! Thanks for the help.
