[Solved] VST issues

Ok, I am having problems with getting my vst's to work? I install them and put the dll in the cakewalk vst folders then I do a vst scan and they do not show up there. Sometimes it will show only a few of them but not all that I put in the folders?
 
Example the Freeware TSE BOD plugin x64 version. I place the dll in the programs file for 64 bit click on cakewalk open vst plugins and put the dll there.  open up sonar 7 producers edition and project. open audio vst folder and nothing there. What am I doing wrong?

    Wherever you've pointed the installer to place the dll must also be reflected in Sonar's scan path.
     
    hit the button labelled "Options" under "VST Configuration"
     

     
    Now add whatever paths you need here:
     

     
    Edit to add: please note that there are several inconsistencies in the example I posted, in practice the search will scan through subfolders
