[Solved] What does a "hollow" waveform mean?

I was trying to edit some clips in some take lanes and I ended up with some clips with hollow waveforms. They don't play, like they have been muted, but the unmute command does not change them back. Does anyone know what the hollow waveforms mean and how to get back the audio?

Oh I figured it out. I must have done a region select with the mute tool. You can only seem to undo it by region selecting the top half of the effected clips with the mute tool.

Look at the clips named Record 14.    As the OP found that's the result of using a region mute (vs Clip mute).  It can be useful for eliminating noises between phrases/notes without needing to split clips.  The only negative I've found is that there are no fades...

Was on a smartphone when I asked the question. I couldn't tell anything from the picture and had not heard the term "Hollow waveform". Can now see. Thanks.

Follow up note, as of Nov 2016 I had the same question. Look up Isolating/Muting. Subtle but distinctly different.
