[Solved] Why has Cakewalk DROPPED support for PCR-300/800

MANY of us purchased the PCR Midi Keyboard controllers because Cakewalk reccomended them as made for Sonar use!

WHY is there no longer support? Why isn't the PCR series listed in the Controller/Surface list when you add a controller? It's a simple file that they removed.

Where can we get the file? I'm sorry for ranting but I get so tired of paying the price for supporting Cakewalk recommended hardware!

Does anyone have this file on their computer?

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\EdirolPCR300.dll

This is the file that Cakewalk has REMOVED for some reason no one in the world will ever understand.

If someone can get it to me I would be very appreciative!

Thanks :-)

Craig you rock! I'm sick as a dog and very sensitive to things going wrong ;-)

Just as an FYI - It's been removed since I THINK X3. Definitely in Platinum. A fresh install won't have it.

I really appreciate this!

Thanks Scook.

Would have been easier if they just left them in. ;-)

It might be related to the sale. It could be something else, I do not know. Regardless, they are available in the knowledge base, a great yet often overlooked resource.

Don't tell too many people about it, or the forum traffic will drop dramatically because people will get their answers there

Don't worry, I tried to find the same information via the knowledge base and couldn't find it. I searched drivers, PCR, Keyboard and controllers. Nothing obvious, and a lot of dated information to wade through. Time for some housekeeping.

Are you sure you were looking in the knowledge base? I typed "control surface" in search, and the "Control Surface Installers" info scook mentioned was the 11th item down from the top.

That's odd I guess. Perhaps with control surfaces coming going cakewalk didn't want to include outright control surface drivers, but instead say ok, if ya really want em here they are.
