[Solved] Windows 10 taskbar placement on dual monitors?

Hi-
 
I have a dual boot system with Windows 10 on both. On one (let's call it "A"), I have one monitor with the taskbar on the right and the other monitor with the taskbar on the bottom. That's my preferred configuration, but I can't get it to work on the other Win10 boot (B).
 
Where it says "Taskbar location on screen:" on A it says "Custom," but that's not an option on B. Wherever I position the taskbar on one monitor, the other mirrors it.
 
Does anyone know how to have two different taskbar locations for multiple monitors in Win 10?

P.S. I'm pretty sure the Actual Multiple Monitors app I was running before my OS upgrade accounts for my being able to do this in the first place, but when I run that now I get a very anemic-looking taskbar on my 2nd monitor and it doesn't survive a reboot.

    Prob best to uninstall that app first.

    I did. It's not running now on either boot, but only one of them preserved the different taskbar placements, and I can't find a way to get that back.

    I don't have multiple monitors but I did find this bit on the Dell support site. Hope this helps.
     
    Taskbars are now shown on all monitors by default
    • With multiple monitors attached, Windows 10 will draw the taskbar across each monitor. By default, all taskbar icons are displayed on the main monitor, and the taskbar on all other monitors.
    • The Taskbar is configurable in multiple displays using Taskbar Properties.
      1. Right-click on the Taskbar
      2. Select Properties
      3. In Taskbar tab, under Multiple Displays, make sure the Show Taskbar on all Displays check box is selected
      4. Click OK.
     
    So it seems to me that you should be able to uncheck it to not have it on multiple displays.

    I want the taskbar on both displays, just not in the same position. I'd like it on the right on my main display and on the bottom on my secondary. I have it working on one boot (so I know it's possible!) but not the other.

    Right click the task bar -> properties.
    See if you can spot the differences between the dual boot OS's.

    Well, the solution was ridiculously easy!
     
    I forgot you can just drag the taskbar to the desired docked position. Doing it that way instead of through the properties dialog lets you change the position on multiple monitors independently.
