[Solved] Wrong effects file keeps loading

Under Soft Synths > Plugin Layouts > Manage Plugins, I have my own custom files for Effects and VST plugins. After scanning to add a new Effect, the wrong file keeps loading. I go back into the Manage Plugins dialog and select the correct file (all the right effects are there) but when I exit the dialog, the file I selected does not load. Anyone know how to force it?

Thanks - rev

When you say "file", are you referring to the plugin layout or an individual plugin within the layout? If you're referring to the layout, you may still have to select it from the list of available layouts in the FX bin/browser/Pro Channel FX Chain. If you're referring to an individual plugin, I'm not sure this is the exact same issue, but, for me, Sonar periodically loads the wrong soft synth (never had the issue with effect plugins) after a project has been open for awhile. I've never reported it as exiting Sonar and relaunching has always resolved it - at least for that session.

    Ben:

Looks as if you were right, relaunching seems to have fixed the problem, though I've never seen it before. After a scan of plugs I save the file containing my custom plugs by overwriting the one that exists and all is fine. Maybe it was something to do with the latest plug that I added..?

    All seems well for now.
