[Solved] X3c - PRV snap is broken (!?)

1. Create a new project using the Normal project template, select the MIDI track and hit Alt+3 to open the PRV, and turn off Smart Grid.

2. Give the gobal snap and PRV snap different snap resolutions, then draw a note event, like this:

3. Move the note event and make sure the snap works fine, like this:

4. Then change the PRV grid resolution to a Triplet one (because it's easier to see the bug) and move the note event, like this:

It doesn't snap right. What am I missing?

And also...

5. Hit the N key twice to turn off/on the global snap, which now unnecessarily changes the grid resolution in the PRV, like this:

Can you confirm the bug?

I can generally get the snap to and snap by working okay, but whoever was working on it definitely screwed up the grid toggle using the n key. It ends up being backwards because the first time you press the n key it doesn't turn off the grid lines (or it's actually turning them on, but they already are on), and then a second press of the key turns them off but the smart grid button is lit up so the lines should be turned on.

The snap settings seemed to work but the N key is definitely screwy. When I press N the smart grid lights up blue, but there aren't any lines. When I hit N again the blue grid indicator turns off but then the grid lines appear?

Thanks. I realized the snap setting in my PRV was back to "Snap by." Maybe I changed it back when I messed around the feature last time. Glad it wasn't a bug. Sorry for the trouble.

I believe the problem is that projects created before the independent To/By setting was added to PRV snap are defaulting to "By" which means the the patch will have spontaneously changed the behavior of PRV snap in existing projects. And the problem is compounded by the fact that you can't see the To/By status at a glance.

True. If the status was displayed, say, to the left of the drop-down, I would have noticed it immediately.
