Just wondering, as I have been previewing ableton demo, if it is possible to automate tempo change in sonar ? think led zeps "gallows pole" ( which btw, i think is the best track of their entire catalog )

I don't know the track you are referring to, but you can use a tempo map to change tempo automatically.

I play with a guy who uses an old-school drum machine and he twists the nob to change tempo quite often to shake things up. It works great!

i'd love to tie tempo to one of my pedals so that I could alter it.

I often plug in and play to a drum-loop for an hour easy.

So much better if I could pick it up and slow it down during recording.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I haven't played with the tempo map function much, but I am pretty sure you can input tempos numerically which could smooth it out.

Right-click on the Draw button in the toolbar, then choose "line." Click at the start of the tempo change, drag to the end of the tempo change, then release the mouse button. You'll end up drawing a line.

If you turn off Snap the "blocky map" draws smoothly.  If you go to draw line mode while entering tempo changes, you can do a smooth linear tempo progression.

ok thank you too- that's helpful. I guess this demonstrates how useful it is to ask sometimes....
