(Solved - thanks guys) Please help me change F11 back to 'Insert Marker'

** Solved - thanks guys - I love this place! **

I'm obviously doing something wrong here - sorely tempted to open 8.5 but I'm going persevere because I'm kind of liking X1

In previous versions I've always created song 'structures' with my guitar in hand and using F11 to add markers, sometimes on the fly.

I'm trying to bind F11 to do the same thing in X1 - it appears that it's now binded to "Global Key Assignment: Clear all automation enables" - problem is, I can't find that option in the list anywhere so I can unbind it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

"M" is the default button for inserting Markers in X1 - does that  help?

Also, you can go to: Edit > Preferences | Key Bindings (Advanced)
    Select "F11" for your key
Select Project | Insert Marker for your function
    Click "Bind"

F11 should now be bound the way you like, and un-bound from its default function.

I spotted that, but thank you for your input Zyler.

However, is it possible to key-bind F11 to do this?

Also, I tried unbinding it from 'M' and then tried binding it to F4 (which it appears, by default is unassigned) and that doesn't work either.

I did this (sorry I was replying before you posted this) - here's the screen before I click on 'Apply' and 'Close':

Edit to add: Even after unbinding 'M' and assigning F11 as above, 'M' is still working and F11 isn't

He he, I need a bit more than that please Mike.

I'm running blind here mate, I only ever customised two keys in 8.5 (I changed the X-Ray feature to 'X' and assigned the 'Down Arrow' to Pause/Play) and it worked both times, first time!
