Some girls are bigger than others
Looking for some feedback on my new song. It's called "Bridge of Sighs" as is half way down the list on my sound click page. There is 8 seconds worth of silence before the music begins. I don't expect you to listen to the whole thing so I've provided the basic idea in this short MP3. I'd like to know the following. 1. What do you feel are the two weakest aspects of the song? 2. What do you feel is the best aspect "if any" on the song? 3. If you think it sucks, tell me. Link... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=561872

1. The chorused guitar doesn't really work with those Morrison vocals. I would got for a more retro sound. It is too short! 2. That voice is cool: Morrison and Ian Astbury.

Nits: space at the beginning and more 64-130hz (maybe? i like my stuff kinda bassish) Goods: fantastic singer! Sucks? No F'n way! Are you going to extend this?

Very powerful vocal. I think the song is quite good and am looking forward to hear the finished version. Unlike James, I kinda like the chorused guitar, but I'm an old fart anyway, so don't listen to me... Regards, Dan

I'm knid of partial to the chorused guitar myself, and can picture it maybe riding a flanger on the way in. For that matter, mabe a bit of flange on the vocals as well, to enhace that psychadelic feel. Side note: just haaad to listen to Low nnn Bro again, for old times sake. That's a classic.

Strongest thing - Vocals for sure very powerful I am OK with chorusey guitar but might add more OD so that the guitar has the same kind of grit as the vocals, now it sounds a bit like Jim Morrison singing to a new wave guitar track, again a personal pref, it sounds good now. No way does this suck, I cannot wait to hear the finished tune, I think it has great potential. Good ;uck with this one.

Yo Mike, Call me weak, but I couldn't not listen to a group named 'Front Butt'. Having listened to the listed selection, I can say its quite a tasty little snippet with great (choroused) guitar sound, very good(Morrison-like) vocal, and a real-sounding drum track. Too short, as others have noted. The mix has a somewhat suppressed/distant feel. Too much comp/limiter? I'm not entirely sure about that. Nonetheless, you should properly finish the song. It sounds good so far. Cheers and Happy New Year, Bert

Bridge of Sighs Elegant interlude piece ... nice sketch. Vox is excellent/emotive ... at correct level ... not hyper compressed ... perfectly dynamic, etc. I would have liked faster fade-in. There may be too fast attack on some compressors, and/or faulty reverb washing out some instrument transients.

Thanks for the feedback folks. It's nice to have this forum to bounce our music off each other. I'm glad you like the name Bert. I think I will keep working on this one. Thanks again all. I really do appreciate it.
