Some guitar wankerage
Starting with Steve's video of Mistreated done by Whitesnake, got me over to Deep Purple then to Dio where I found this video of my previous neighbor (well three blocks away), guitar teacher and bandmate (for all of six weeks) doing some serious wankerage. You'll see why the main reason I got to play with him is that I had ZERO interest in playing leads back then (and he didn't want anyone else taking them! LOL.). His Godfather is Richie Blackmore. 'Nuff said, eh?
They misspelled his last name on the title though... (it's Goldy).

I saw him in Dio in 1988. He played an awesome 10 minute solo during which a huge mechanical spider descended upon him from the ceiling and he shot it down with a laser attached to the headstock of his guitar. Pure 80's metal.

When I knew him it was before Rough Cutt, Guiffria or Dio. He could play anything by Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen, but he really didn't have his own "thing" (which bugged him). Needless to say, he never played anything original before moving out of San Diego.
