Some weird encounters

Hey all!

Just thought I'd share some discoveries. This may have been discussed before, if so I apologize for wasting yer time. While working on the final adjustments to an album project the last couple of weeks I noticed a few weird things in Sonar and took a screen shot of the weirdest ones. Have anyone seen this before or can explain what it is?

I have to add, nothing sounded or behaved wrong and none of these little odd things caused any problems so I'm not complaining - merely observing.

1: Missing Track Heads:

I was doing some edits and going about my business and when opening a track folder I noticed that the track headers within that folder was missing! The track played nicely and I could still adjust everything from the TI. Trying to choose a different layout for the track header didn't work. Closing and re-opening the project made everything go back to normal tho and I never saw it again. Probably some GUI part that didn't load but It's really weird. Can't say what I did to make it happen - I have no idea.

2: Backwards envelope

I was coping and messing with some clips on a track with some envelope action and the weirdes thing I've ever seen in Sonar occured. See the pink envelope?? Now how did that happen??! When playing back it didn't really do anything but I was to nervous for it to crash to give it a thorough inspection. I just undid it, copied it again and it looked normal and automation played back as expected. Anyone else seen this?

Like I said, I'm not complaining, they are just observations. I've just delivered 13 massive projects (100+ tracks, dozens of VSTi's, "millions" of VSTs and Pro Channel all the way) to be mixed and have been working day and night. Sonar didn't fail me once. My SSD did but that's hardly Sonar's fault.

So I'm happy, just laughing a little about these two oddities

I have had the missing track headers problem . The envelopes problem is a new one to me. It was the same with me in that when I re launched the project everything went back to normal and there were no issues with operation. As you say, I suspect a possible graphics loading issue. It has only happened to me once.

The envelope one is the one that pussled me most. But I'm sort of glad to see that it isn't me. I should probably send a error report thing to Cakewalk with the pictures and all. My problem is I have no idea how I made this happen! Did you do anything special when the track header disappeared?

Actually until you mentioned this I really thought that maybe I had inadvertently  pushed a wrong key,as I am always liable to do...so your mention of it means that A. We both did the same wrong key thing or B. There really is some kinds of a graphics load issue.

Sure couldn't hurt to send a report in on it.

He he, that might be the issue. I know I can be hiting my keys at a fairly rapid speed at times. I think I'll send them a message if they want to look into it. It doesn't hurt but it sure is weird!

Glad to see I'm not alone in this boat either

The envelope one is the sort of result you'll see from deleting a period of time within the project. That's quite an old bug as well.

I'm really hoping that the envelope bugs are sorted out soon plus of course a popup on mouseover on ghosted data.

Project M, have you seen any weird lights in the sky and compasses that seem to spin around on their own?

Seen the missing track header one. All ways put it down to a maybe not so good video card!
Have not seen the envelopes one.
    Cheers
