Something's Wrong About That

Here is a wee bit of social observation for your consideration.  No solutions offered --- I'm just sayin'.
As always, your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

This is pretty creative! I like the "Batman Askew" chords!!!
Your graphic, I presume intentionally, spells "WORNG" which took me a minute to figure out, sadly . . . nice touch.

Vocally it's a pretty good mix in volumes between the bgv and the lead vocal, but something is muddying the blend up somewhere - maybe eq a little low end out of the bgv to help the whole thing seem brighter?

    thanks for the fun listen.

Yeah, it is sorta like a blues tinged theme song for when the bat lights up the sky.

    Goof stuff as usual, Freddy.

For those vocal harmonies... I think they could use more panning too, they kind of sit of top of each other.

Freddy, how timely this is.  That guitar is fat and chunky, just right for this.  Your lyrics hit below the belt, but in the right way!  Your productions are uniquely you, and they just keep getting better.  I would dearly love to jam with you.

    All the best,

Hi Freddy, I really like the vocal arrangement on this. Cool guitar riffage and tones, too. Very nicely done!

Wow, this is kind of a departure for you, at least in my mind.  In the sense that it goes different than I expect.

That riff is very unique, and the vocals are cool

I would love to hear it with a more minimal lead guitar there in the middle

Yes, I have to concur, Freddy J, this song has a really good and cool feel to it. I keep thinking with pleasure about how live your songs seem to be. The vocal and guitar both strike me just the right way.
Thanks for this and already waiting for more!

Hi Tom.  You caught it!  I was hoping someone would!  I was hoping that my little joke would not have gone worng.  BATMAN  --- you're right.  Ha! --- it does have a bit of that sound.  I'm always impressed how you can analyze songs and offer a suggestion that is always right.  I went to the low harmony track and messed about with the gain on the 200 Hz level.  I think that might have helped but I don't have your ears.  Thanks for listening and thanks for your suggestion.

Hey Steve.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I panned them a touch wider.  I hope that helped.  Thanks for the encouragement.

Hi Lynn.  Thank you!  I have always appreciated your suggestions and your encouragement.  I too would like to do some jammin' with you.  I still have some songs that were lost when I dropped my external hard drive (oops).  I'll try to dig out my notes on those and maybe there is something there that can be rescued with your help.  Thanks again!

Hi Gary. Thanks very much for listening and for your very kind comments.  BTW, I just love that cool, jazzy number that you recently posted.  Great stuff!!

Hey James.  Thanks for your kind comments.  I am trying to improve with many thanks to those on this forum that have been very patient in helping me.  Now --- if only I knew what I was doing ;>)

That's some funkyness my friend. I love the way the two guitars play against each other - they harmonize in a perfectly dissodent way. There may be something wrong - but, there is certainly nothing wrong with this tune - it is very cool. Love this one bro.

Hi Daryl.  Thanks for the nice comments.  On this one, I thought that maybe I should avoid the tendency that I have for overusing the reverb.

Hey Mark.  Thank you.  I really appreciate your encouragement.  Have I ever made a stinker?  Boy have I!!!!  Several!!!  Just scroll down my SoundClick page and they are there.  Thanks to the members on this forum, y'all have gently and kindly suggested improvements to be made.  I have learned much on this forum and my learning curve remains almost exponential.

Hey Jesse.  Ya, I put on my social commentary hat for this one.  I'll have to go back and listen to the lead.  Thanks for listening, and the comments and suggestion.

Hi Laura. First of all thanks for listening and for your comments.  I appreciate your comment about the live feel to the song.  Actually that is a conscience effort.  While I appreciate the skill and talent of those who can make a highly engineered song, I am one who in my younger days didn't attend many large concerts but appreciated the efforts of those playing the smaller clubs.  On most songs I try to get that feel.  I don't know if it works but I am trying techniques such as: keeping the DR numbers at around 8 or higher; limiting the amount of orchestration on the Blues, Rock, and Rockabilly; and not to being too perfect in the performance (this last technique requires no effort on my part); etc.  Thank you again.

Hi Mark (CLEAN).  You made my day --  thanks.  Your comments are most kind and appreciated.  BTW, I really think that you did an excellent job on "'Till There Was You".  It was a "classy" performance on a "classy" song. Oh ya, the check is in the mail for the comments concerning this song also.   ;>)

Such a nice guitar, especially in the very beginning, but the vocals are not prominent enough for my taste.

    Hey Freddy
Yeah I like this one, too. It's the song as well as your style, kind of easy going and not too serious, not to mention your expert  playing. Good subject matter. I heard that batman thing in there too and maybe a little Catscratch Fever? (well probably just me). Anyway, good stuff.  I always give you a listen.

Hi Steen.  Thanks for listening and for commenting.  I haven't listened to this song in a couple of weeks, so I will have to go back and listen to the vocal levels.

Hi Bjorn.  After Tom commented I listened to this number and there is a bit of a Batman feel -- sort of.  Well I be darned.  Thanks for listening and for the encouragement --- it is much appreciated.

    Hi Freddy,
Nice song and playing. I hear some ZZ Top in this. Like the arrangement.
I think you might be missing some low mids. It is very bright and could have a fuller lower end IMO.
    Like the attitude a lot.
