Sonar 2015 and ACT

Since it was first implemented we have not seen any substantial improvements to the ACT concept nor implementation, and improvement is sorely needed.
I always found it interesting that templates were provided for Cakewalk/Roland's brand of controllers, and all of these templates broke from the standard 8 knobs, 8 sliders, 8 buttons and had precisely the number of customizable knobs, buttons and sliders (KBS) in the ACT interface as were actually on the controllers.
I don't understand why ACT doesn't work this way for all controllers. That is, why can't I build a template that includes precisely the number of KBS that are on my controller, regardless of the manufacturer? It's clearly possible to vary from the standard 8 of each. The Roland templates are proof.
My current setup has my Axiom61 configured as three separate ACT controllers in order to account for all of the KBS that are the face of the device. With each new release I hope that ACT will be improved, and I am always disappointed.
I tend to assume that everyone has the same problems I do. Perhaps very few people actually implement ACT and it just isn't a priority for Cakewalk.
Can anyone at Cakewalk confirm or deny that this is even on their radar?

ACT works with my bcf2000 because it had a preset for it. I sort of got my FCB foot controller to work, but not with vst plugins. The whole method is maze and trying to remember the steps was very frustrating. I finally just gave up. I had a couple of half hearted attempts lately, but life is too short. I would update immediately if there was an updated/revised ACT. I am not holding my breath, but this is an area where Cakewalk can prove that the new model works. Time will tell.
