Thank you, Tom. I'm just starting the East West learning curve and may need some consult in a week or so. I'd appreciate an email address. The E W manual is not up to date, and their knowledge base is very brief with regards to sonar's adaptation of this program. The learning curve looks heavy. My project's deadline is end of Dec. Also have some video animation to add to the finished track. Final project converted to DVD.
Here's my set up. If you see any short comings let me know.
P4, 2.5 MHz Intel, C: drive = segate baracuda 160 Gig, D: drive = segate baracude 160 Gig (both 7,200), M-Audio Audiophone 2496. 2 Gig Ram. Been a Sonar user since Sonar 1.0. Went to 2.0 and stopped at 3.1.
Using E-mu Virtuoso 2000 for instruments. Need to add vocals from EW. 11 minute score is finished in Midi. Vocals scored with string instruments at this time and need to be converted to EW. SATB on separate midi tracks. Vocals must be choir (SATB), plus a few solo voices. I see I'll have to rewrite a few parts because the EW program has no male solo voices at this time. Have you been able to figure out how to fake a male solo voice from the alto sampe?
Project has 4 tracks midi for Choir (SATB). I think I see that I'll have to split off the solo parts to a separate midi track, which will make 8 tracks for vocals.
Solo instrument midi on a 9th track (Emu) and piano midi on 10th track (Emu.)
Liked your idea of setting up vocals first independent of Sonar. When you import the voice to sonar, you're importing what....a .wav?
And no midi glissando chords to EW, if I understand correctly, which would make sense.
