Sonar 7 Home Studio freezes upon starting

I have a computer that I built running Windows XP x64 as the OS. Quad Core Intel Processor, 6 gigs of RAM and so forth. I knew I would have problems with some of my music software so I am running Windows XP sp3 x86 (32-bit) as a virtual machine on VMware Workstation. It installs Sonar 7 HS, runs the audio tests and does everything it's suppose to do until I restart the program for my changes to take place. Whenever I try to start the program up again, the program freezes. I have the virtual machine set to 4 gigs of RAM and 200 gigs of HD space. Not sure what the problem could be.
