HEEELLLLPPPP! I admit that I'm not the brightest guy on the planet. Now that that's been established...

I recently upgraded my computer to a Dell with an AMD II/245 processor and 4 G RAM.  Suits my minimal needs.

I'm trying to get Sonar 7 PE up and running on the new computer and have hit a couple of snags that are driving me crazy. When I create an envelope (say, for automating volume during a mix), I see the nodes and curvy lines but on playback Sonar ignores them and just plays the volume straight through whenever the fader is at the time.

Also, when I modify an EQ or synth patch, it doesn't give me the option to "Save As'. It just asks me to if I want to overwrite the existing preset...

Any help would be greatly appreciated (as would any spare brains).

    Before you try to write a "save as"  you have to enter a new name for the patch.

    I'm not at my DAW but there is a toggle to enable reading of the envelopes. You must have shut it off.

    Regarding your automation problem, have you got the global 'read Automation' toggle switched on?
