Sonar 7 Producer Edition64 & Windows 8

Hi,

I've searched the forum but I'm not getting anywhere so apologies if this has already been answered. I'm running Sonar 7 Producers Edition on Windows 7 64 Professional with no problems. If I buy a new PC running windows 8 64, will I be able to install and run Sonar 7 without problems?

Thanks for your help

Alan

Sonar 7 was designed to run on Vista and XP.  It's fortunate that it works so well on Windows 7.  Upgrading to Windows 8 would be risky.

Not necessarily. Windows 8 is not all that different from Windows 7. Its basically Windows 7 with a Smartphone interface you can use if you want.

I find it a bit risky still...  You'd be surprised
We're in a world that wants to drag you into upgrades and new software too quickly sometimes...
Sonar 7 will soon be more obsolete than we think.... I mean I run Sonar PE 8.5 3 on Win 7 with really good gear and all but in a way I feel like a dinosaur, and yes and I'm the kind of guy who's afraid of change, why mess with what works... I learned a few things the hard way...
dying to get X2 Producer, but its that risk of new menus, different ways of doing things, and certain things that although BETTER, may slow you down.

Anyway, with WIN8, be afraid of certain things and external hardware and drivers not being fully compatible, although is a dressed up version of Win7, some things do change in the core, so says Microsoft; there are subtle differences.

This isn't the exact answer you're looking for but, I am running Sonar 8.5.3 PE on Win8 with no issues on a 6 (?) year old Q6600 with no issues.  BTW, I do have X2 just haven't spent the time to get comfortable with it yet.
