Sonar 7 doesn't slide meter changes when inserting (pasting) a copied fragment

Using Sonar 7. I'm recording a piece with meter changes every 8 bars or so. I try to insert a copied fragment of 4 bars at bar 2 while using the “slide over old to make room”. Somehow Sonar 7 doesn't slide the meter changes. I use the midi files to import in Finale to make sheet music, but this way the meters will be all screwed up.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. See pic for the setting's I am using.

When I cut the whole piece and paste it at bar 6 it does paste all meter changes. So in this particular case I found a solutin. But what if I'd want to copy and insert a piece somewhere in the middle? Can't figure it out.

I'm pretty sure 'Slide Over to Make Room' has only ever applied to clips, and not tempo/meter changes or markers. In any case, that function can be problematic even for clips (as noted in the SONAR Readme for quite a few years), and I recommend you use Project > Insert Time/Measures to make space for the paste in advance, and then paste in 'Blend' mode.

Also, you need to ensure that there is a number of measures between the Insert point and the next meter change greater-than-or-equal-to the number of measures you're inserting, or you will see extra measures inserted; this is a bug. If you need to insert more measures than will fit before the next tempo change, you'll have to Insert in stages - i.e. insert 2 measures, then 4, then 8, etc, depending on how may you need.

Unfortunately, you're hitting one of SONAR's long-standing soft spots; I believe all these shortcomings/issues persist in the current release.

Next time I will use Project > Insert Time/Measures, hopefully it will work. From what you say I understand I shouldn't bother to buy any upgrade for this kind of issues. Thanks so much for all the information :-)!
