Sonar 8 .5 piano roll sluggish

Hi guys . I checked through a bunch of older posts and couldn't find a decent answer . My problem is that now that i am halfway through composing a midi drum track in the piano roll view , every time i try to edit an individual note it takes several seconds to actually click on it , then it takes several more seconds to move it somewhere else . Playback is fine , but editing is now taking forever . I decided to try and open another current track i was working on with the same drum kit and it moved just fine . So ... i'm at a loss as to what would cause the problem in one project and yet work in another with the same drum synth ( ezdrummer ) ? Did i turn something on by mistake ? Thanks ....
my setup is a brand new Sony Vaio with a Saffire Pro 24 interface . Never had a problem before ..

I once had this problem.  It occurred during a time after my graphics card died and I temporarily installed an old 32MB one before getting a better replacement.  PRV editing was extremely sluggish, although everything else wasn't too bad.

I'm not sure whether this helps you though.

Thanks for the response . Yeah , i don't really think it's a graphics problem . I did diagnose it ... but i still don't have a solution . When i move the now time marker around 20 bars back , the midi notes edit just fine . When the now time marker is right by the parts i am editing , it completely slows up the movement of the midi notes . So , the problem is the now time marker .... now i'm even more lost ...
