Sonar 8 Instruments - Standalone?
I see that Sonar 8 includes, among others, Dimension Pro and z3ta+.
Can these instruments be used standalone, or only as a plugin for Sonar?
thanks
Keith

There was a mention in an S8 thread about the Dimension Pro standalone selection being grayed out in the installer. But you can pick up the executable (microhost) for it
here
. As for z3ta+, both licenses of mine (from rgc:audio, and Sonar7) supplied a standalone microhost version. You may have to create your own shortcuts to them for easy access. You'll find the microhosts need to reside alongside the synth's .dll to work.

I have loaded the Dimension Pro Microhost. However, how do you do anything with it?
Thanks,
Lance

Copy the Microhost executable to the same folder where the Dimension Pro DLL is located. Double-click the microhost executable to launch it. The host will load the Dimension Pro DLL and you should see the Dimension Pro GUI popup before your very eyes. From there just select your audio output interface and your MIDI input interface. Then, load a patch and let the music fly.
