Sonar 8 PE_Best YouTube
I just got Sonar 8 PE loaded onto old 32-bit computer. I am looking for a YouTube channel or playlist to get me acclimated to the workflow.

Check out the Scott Garrigus' Digifreq vids but really there are mountains of Sonar 8 vids on the Ytoobs. Funny thing is I've learned a lot from those old pre X series vids.
Just punch in Sonar in the YT search field and a good hunk of them will be 8 vids or earlier versions which pretty much follow the same workflow.

I wouldn't bother. Its very old and no longer supported. You need to get Sonar 2015 to be up to date. If you learn 8 you will need to unlearn it when you do move up to a contemporary version.

I would bother. I am at the end of my life and have a limited amount of time which doesn't include being up to date. I'm happy with Sonar 8! Sonar 8.5 is great and produces wonderful music, I am currently writing and recording what may be my last album, The Road Home, and having a fantastic time. Stick with it until you are ready to move on. Listen to beepster, he always has great advice :)

If you look at the time stamps you will notice we both posted at the same time. Beep got in a hair faster then I did. At the time I was answering a question that had not been responded to. It looks as if I am contradicting Beep but I'm not because I didn't know he had posted.
You on the other hand have done just that. Its rude to tell anyone to ignore a post by a member that is posted in good faith. I am very sorry to hear that you are dying. That is a terrible situation but if you weren't would still think this way?

Perhaps, let me restate my post:
What I am saying is, listen to John as well, he has good advice and when you are ready to upgrade, please go for it. Until then, stick with Sonar 8. It is great and does great things, it is fun and very useable.
BruhLuuh, as Beepster mentioned, there are great vids out there. For example, in addition to YouTube, Groove 3 has some wonderful tutorials on Sonar 8 and wonderful sales.
I have X1,2 &3 because I like to support Cakewalk but I am happy with 8.5.
So John, again my apologies.

Well there's no disagreement here. If the resources (computer, finacial and otherwise) are available definitely check out the current version of Sonar. It's pretty durned slick.
However if Sonar 8 is all that you have then I hear it was a pretty good version too (8.5 to be specific). I wasn't using Sonar back then so all I have to go on is user reports and watching old vids.
I'm pretty sure there is a 32 bit version of the new Sonar if that is the problem but if your system is XP or something like that... meh, don't think it has been tested on that. Might work anyway.
All I was really saying was that there are quite a few Sonar 8 vids on youtube as well as books/tuts/docs out there from fellows like Scott Garrigus. You could check out old Sound On Sound columns about Sonar as well (Craig wrote quite a few I'm sure).
There are even some tuts in the CakeTV section of this site that use Sonar 8 still lingering about.
@Robby... Sorry to hear about your health. That blows.

Yup. I knew that. What the differences between 8 and 8.5 were... that I have no idea about.
