Sonar 8.5 PE - Fireface 800 -- No Audio is recording

This is a new setup and although I am pretty technical - so most everything appears to be working, except getting audio to a track.
I believe am overlooking some setting...

Synopsis:   (WinXP Sp3 32bit / 3.2Ghz QuadE / Sonar PE 8.5.3)

RME Fireface 800 (FF800)
- FF 800 driver is 2.992 ASIO  (Have tried newest versions - too buggy..2.992 is solid)
- Using analog input 1 (FF800 software set correctly for AN input 1 on front)
- Firefacemix is routing AN1-input  to  AN1-output    / and PHL & PHR  (Phones L R)
- Levels show input and output signal in fireface mix. (And as noted below also in Sonar)

Sonar audio setup:
anaglog Audio inputs AND outputs selected- " Analog ASIO Fireface 1 /3 /5 /7 /9"

New blank project:
Insert audio track-
     - INPUT:  Left ASIO Fireface AN 1  (Options would be:"Left ASIO Fireface AN1""Right ASIO Fireface AN1""Stereo ASIO Fireface AN1" )

Insert New stereo Bus:
     - OUTPUT: "Master" to- "Fireface ASIO AN9"

PROBLEM: No audio is recorded to the track

I get signal when the track is armed / recording but no data records to the track.

It appears as if everything is working except that.

Any insights are appreciated, thanks

Do you have punch in enabled?? Check it and make sure its not. I think its enabled and it explains why your not recording.

When you say no data is recorded, does this mean that you end up with an empty clip or with simply nothing?

Your setup looks sensible enough, I must admit I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to go from here.

EDIT: Just saw you got it working, we all have days like that!

Great. Thought I was the only one who hit the wrong button and wondered why the damned thing didn't work!
