Sonar 8,5 Production/Delta 1010LT ASIO Drivers

When I select ASIO drivers the ASIO Panel does not open? Any information or recommendations on using Sonar 8.5/Delta 1010LT on Windows 7?

Yes. I'm running the following version "Delta_6_0_2_5_10_0_5074" which is the most recent available. I just rebuilt my entire system last weekend with Windows 7 however I experienced the same problem when running Windows Vista 64.

    Here is my system configuration:

    Sonar 8.5 Update3
    Quad Core Q6600 2.4Ghz
    8GB RAM (800mhz)
    Windows 7 64-Bit
    500GB 7200 rpm (32MB Cache) C:\System Files
    1TB 7200 rpm (32MB Cache)D:\ Audio Files
    M-Audio Delta 1010LT Audo Interface
    Thanks

Can you run the Delta Control Panel from the system tray or from the Windows Control Panel?

M-Audio makes a 32 bit and 64 bit version for Windows 7, make sure you have the correct version running. You have to install and then set your programs to run with administrator permissions. The new drivers work great, so it has to be some issue with how you have either Windows or Sonar installed. Make sure everything is running in 64 bit mode, or you will need to use the 32 bit driver.

I am curious to know why you would install Windows 7 on a machine that was as old as your must be. Why not go with a Firewire or USB interface?

Chris, thats not really that old???!?!

besides some people like the thing inside the box.. and for what the LT is , it's a compromise.. sure you have the cables out the back.. but it's been around ages.

I hopefully will have an i5 soon, and will use one. BUT the m-audio ozone drivers in win7-64 bite.. so much so I've bought another card.. I do hope they are on point with the 1010LT drivers.. or it's off to RME land for me.

Blues, in previous versions it put it in the right next to the clock the m-audio icon and you get the mixer up.. if you right click on that..

if your not getting the panel up, my guess is that maybe you haven't unselected any other cards

    notice in inputs / outputs

I have sw1000 / samson etc.. if I don't untick those I can't select ASIO. I leave  "delta 1010LT multi" ticked and untick the rest. THEN apply.. then it'll allow you to select asio mode..the again APPLY..  maybe thats the problem ?

I noticed that with sonar 8 and 8.5 my m-audio delta 44 panel would not come up when I pressed the ASIO button in the OPTIONS>AUDIO window.  I think it's a communication problem between m-audio software and cakewalk because it used to work with earlier versions of cakewalk and/or m-audio drivers.

you can change the parameters of the drivers by double clicking the little red & white ">" circle icon in the systray.  you may have to close sonar, change the parameters, then open sonar again when doing it that way.

Thanks for everyone's response. Yes I have all the 64 bit drivers loaded for the device and installed at 64Bit in Sonar. I loaded Windows 7 on my PC because Windows 7 is built on Windows 2008 architecture. This means that this OS utilizes CPU resources more efficiently than any other OS Microsoft has ever built. On the other hand (W7 in 64Bit) also sucks more memory than any other OS in M$ history. Memory is cheaper than clock cycles. At the end of the day my 4 core proc with 8GB RAM screams...not like an i7 but it does the job. I simply have an issue with the ASIO config with Sonar. Works fine with WDM so it's not the end of the world. The Delta 1010Lt has been with me a long time. Probably not as fast or efficient as firewire but I it's paid for and I thought I'd continue on with it but I may go shopping for another interface. The delta defintely doesn't owe me anything. Again...your feedback is all appreciated. I am just a hobbiest that has played and recorded for way too long as a hobby and I'm trying to get the best results possible on a "hobbiest" budget.

    Thanks again.

beagle you know how you feel about giga sampler ? thats exactly how I feel about m-audio now (I've just spend a fair bit replacing things because they couldn't pull their finger out)

I would keep an eye on the m-audio site for the next few days as they seem to be updating drivers on a lot of things.

it only took em 3+ months to update drivers (last set were dated 2009)  I was waiting on.. which made working in sonar etc  near impossible

The Windows7 64-bit drivers that have been out for a year work fine. You have some other problem.

Dave, for the ozone they were out in 2009 and not updated since!!! .. until yesterday or the day before. 3 months after I told them the issue.. and no it's not DPC latency etc.. prior to that they were working fine.. so I assume say a windows update threw them or something.

I own both an ozone and 1010LT.. but if the LT gives me any issues like the ozone.. it's getting replaced by an RME.

their tech support has beyond rubbish and they were told how to replicate the issues. all they reply was "unplug .. reinstall the drivers" .. the drivers WERE the problem .. they were told this about 3 times over 3 months.

imagine working on a tune.. get someone to fx it with bit crusher every 4-5 minutes that's what it was equivalent to.. in ANY host I use (reason / sonar / cubase)

2 weeks ago, I got a saffire 6.. NO problems , but had to get a keyboard also to replace the ozone.. so thanks to them , I've had to fork out a load of money because they have taken their time.

lets see what m-audio have done for me personally...

1)they messed up with my "ozone" mastering software registration
2)they made UK folk wait a month delay for Reason 4 because they didn't ship it!!
3)they made me wait 3+ months for drivers they should have updated AGES ago

3 strikes, and they are out .

yeah, I know they were very slow with vista drivers and I've heard some complaints about win7 drivers, but not as many as vista.  my system works fine, but I'm still on xp and prbably will stay here a while.

That's because they didn't need to be updated. They work fine. You just have an issue with M-Audio. Their products and drivers work very well. If you have an issue, take it up with them. In case you didn't notice, this is the Sonar forum. M-Audio has their own forum.

    Hi,

The question is ... will they update their drivers for the 1010LT or related cards for the W8 Pro .... or any other version after that?

It has been suggested to not upgrade the machine that has this card past W7 at all ... and M-Audio is not talking about W8 and in fact has not discussed W7 a whole lot.

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

My Delta44 worked fine with Windows8 and no update was needed. I suspect the same will be true of the Delta1010.
