Sonar 8.5 killed my Tranzport!!
I bought the 8.5 upgrade about a month ago, thought everything was fine. Tranzport stopped working around the same time. I thought maybe the batteries were dead. Changed the batteries, still doesnt work. If I load Sonar 8, Tranzport works fine. Load 8.5, Tranzport does nothing. What can I do to fix this?

My Tranzport works fine with my 8.5.3 PE (Win 7 64 bit).
I've had to, on occasion, completely uninstall the Tranzport and then restart the PC and do a complete new installation to get it working when I had the Tranzport and Vista. So far, with Win 7, I haven't had to reinstall.

I'll try that today, just don't understand why Version 8, tranzport works, version 8.5, tranzport does not work......

Have you installed the latest drivers for the Tranzport. Also, if you run both SONAR x32 as well as x64 there is a special method for getting both drivers to work. See the Frontier Design Group downloads area for a readme file that details the process.
FWIW, my Tranzport works fine in 8.5 x64.

Well, I have no idea what to do now. After installing 8.5, tranzport quit working. If I opened a project in Sonar 8, it worked fine, nothing in 8.5.. Now after doing the steps that are listed on the Frontier site, it no longer works in Sonar 8, nor does it work in 8.5. I REALLY do not understand this at all?????

Also, when I look in the Control Surfaces area, tranzport is in paranthesis, and the tranzport midi in and out boxes do not stay populated after you close and open again. I think this means that there is a driver problem. but not sure

I have a Tranzport with 8.5.3. I had trouble getting it to work. Load, unload, reload.....It seems like a crap shoot. If you go through the long and complicated proccess of completely removing Tranzport from the registry...a few times...all of a sudden, for no reason, it will work. At least that has been my experience.

I got the info from Frontier Design. I can't remember if it was on their website or if tech support sent me an email...but they have it. It is a difficult process, and not for a computer shy person, but it can work.
