Sonar 8.5 not recording in time.

Hey guys,

I've been having a problem that just appeared out of no where.  I'm sure there's a fix for it that I just can't figure out.  Whenever I record anything (even if I play in perfect time with the metronome), when I end the recording the audio is recorded in Sonar sightly behind the click as if I played too slow - but I didn't.  It's not just playing back out of time - it's physically out of time.  If I then nudge it over to the left a bit then the track is perfectly on time.  This never happened until recently.  Anybody have any thoughts?  Here's my setup:

Mackie Onyx with Firewire
Custom computer with Asus M4A79XTD EVO mobo and AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE cpu
Windows 7 64 bit
Sonar 8.5

Thanks for the help!

Jonathan

Sure this shouldn't be psoted in the Sonar forums?

I have no idea what it could be tho so sorry I can't be of any help. Some buffer size issue maybe? Try upstairs in the Sonar forum and I'm sure someone smarter than me will chime in

    good luck!

What drivers are you using? WDM/KS drivers which usually will have latency and latency is a problem with recording and can be measured if searching around the Internet to find out what it is and programs to measure it. Otherwise, ASIO drivers came out to compensate for latency so you hear and record the same at the exact same time, and it comes out at the exact same time.
Now, go read some articles on the Internet about recording.
