Sonar 8.5 on a laptop for live tracking
Scenario - Dell Laptop
Quad Core I3 2.20 GHz
8 GB RAM
Win 7 64bit Clean Install
No Anti-Virus or other software running in the background
Presonus FP-10 (Firepod) connected through a Siig firewire express card using ASIO
I can record about 1.5 seconds and audio engine stops - if I switch to WDM and set latency high enough I can record but due to the lag delay it's not useful. It doesn't matter if I try to record one or eight tracks the system is not useable.
All I want to do is track our band and then transfer my files to my home computer for cleanup and mixing (Sonar X2)
Any help or advice is much appreciated . . . or if anyone on these forums lives in the Mesa, Arizona area and thinks they can help me get this working right, I would gladly pay them for their time.
Please let me know what info you need to help me get this running or if my laptop setup just isn't robust enough. It should be as I've run 8.5 on a much lesser home machine with great results in the past.
Thanks in advance
Russell
