Sonar 8.5 won't let me record using my amp via USB.
I've been using Sonar for the last 7 or 8 years now. I am very familiar with it and been a great program for me. However, I have had this problem on this computer in particular for awhile. On my older computer in the same program, it recognized and records using this amp just fine. However, I haven't had luck with this one. It recognizes the device, it asks to 'add' the device. I click yes, but the option isn't there. Usually if you go into Options - Audio - Drivers it'll be under there and then you just select it. However, mine doesn't show up here either. When I disconnect, it still gives the message about how it was unplugged. Here shows that the program itself doesn't show up to use to record. Usually this is where people have a problem, you simply select the one used. Mine however still doesn't show the amp. This is when I disconnect the amp (standard message). So it does recognize it being plugged in, and being unplugged. I've been wanting to use this computer to record forever. It does recognize my USB mic, but I have been stumped here. Anyone able to help solve an on going 3 year problem? Much is appreciated!

All previous messages were deleted, I had issues uploading the pictures initially. Anyone able to provide some information? I know it's an older version, but I know it very well and enjoy the ease of use. I would imagine a newer version might have the same problem.

IIRC, the Fender Mustang uses an ASIO driver. To see the device requires changing the drive mode from MME to ASIO. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is any way to hear audio from the DAW when using the Mustang ASIO driver.

I downloaded the ASIO driver for my computer, and it still doesn't show an option for it. As mentioned, I do use this amp on my other older computer, and it works perfectly. It does also do playback of the audio.

Use Imgur for pictures,, Photobucket will hold you ransom for cash.. And actually I think you need 30 posts here to post pictures and links. My friend has a Fender Mustang. Switch to WDM or WASAPI exclusive mode. ASIO and MME won't work properly is you already have a proper audio interface. But here's a tip,,, the sound you will get sucks anyhow,, so we just use a mike. It seems tinny sounding compared to the speaker output. OK for putting down ideas but not for blasting out a crunchy tone. His is an older ( 5 years?) model so things may have changed.
