Sonar 8.5.3 - Crash & Hang .. any solutions? Have searched the Forum...no joy

"Crash and Hang" ... not the name of my new band, but I do like it!!

Has anyone a resolution for when Sonar crashes (usually on a bum plugin) and then 'hangs' ... just won't let go even when I control/alt/delete and try to end the program.

I find it faster to reboot and start again than to wait for the looooooong delay for when it decides to 'let go' and be no more.

I am running:

SONAR 8.5.3 (64bit)
Windows 7/64
jBridge (on most stuff)
6 Gig Ram/ INTEL 930 Quad Core system

Tweaked pretty well... not a serious amount in the reg.
Fully backed up system with ACRONIS yesterday... hit me with whatever you got boys!

Thanks so much,

Long time user under my new name/ID,

IMAGO DEI

Please & Thanks!

Chris - did you ever resolve this?  I just found it.  The Sonar forum has had a lot less traffic since they separated the X1 forum.

which plugins are you having problems with?  native sonar ones or 3rd party?  free or "not free"?

    Imago,
Same has been happening to me (See my Scarbee Funk Guitarist post),still haven't resolved the cause, but when it is hanging, first click anywhere on the Sonar template to get a white screen, then click the close button at top right corner and you will get a "close the program" message from windows. This way you don't have to reboot.

The 'crash' could be caused by any number of things.

The 'hang' can often be resolved by turning off your midi keyboard or similar device to allow Sonar to exit gracefully.

Try it see if it works for you.
